Meet the artist
Anaïs Lobmeyer is a French artist and designer living in Melbourne. Founder of the multidisciplinary design studio Release The Zebra, her work is a celebration of joy and individuality. Release The Zebra offers hand-painted ceramics whose designs are a fusion of audacious styles and vivid palettes, drawing inspiration from the 80's Memphis movement.
Anaïs started to paint pots during lockdown as a calming therapy and also because she couldn't find the bright pots she was dreaming of on the market. It soon became another side of the studio along the brand design services she provided for businesses and events.
Unique hand-painted artworks, infused with that French je-ne-sais-quoi
Every ceramic is designed and painted by Anaïs following the same process. First the pattern is designed and draw into the ceramics. Then, the painting starts and takes hours to make sure the colors are as vibrant as possible and that the lines are as slick as possible because I’ve some OCD but I’m fine. Then the varnish is applied and you have a ceramic ready to be adopted!
Each ceramic follows this process, starting from scratch which makes them completely unique.
