Who’s the zebra?
Release the Zebra is a female-led design studio run by French Creative Director Anaïs Lobmeyer, with a rotating cast of creative superstars (illustrators, motion designers, developers, copywriters and more) brought in on a project-by-project basis to build the perfect team for each brief.
Before jumping into the design world, Anaïs was directing large-scale historical productions in France. With 10+ years of experience across live performance and visual storytelling, she now helps creative and cultural organisations stand out with campaigns that are bold, strategic, and full of character.
But why a zebra?
The zebra is a nod to high-potential individuals who don’t quite fit in a box. Release The Zebra is about unlocking your full creative power and letting it run wild (preferably in technicolor). We believe in unleashing bold ideas, owning your uniqueness, and doing things a little differently. The work is serious. The vibe? Not so much.

Our engagement
-
Independent Arts
Supporting arts in all forms has been something close to our hearts since 2012 where Anaïs worked as theatre director. Every year, the zebra dedicates time for cultural and art events. You can usually spot Anaïs volunteering at the Melbourne Fringe Festival.
-
Marine Conservation
It might be surprising to see a zebra underwater but it happens more often than you think! Anaïs is a certified diver, involved in PADI ’Dive Against Debris’ which tend to reduce marine debris by 50% in targeted countries by 2030.
-
Education
Whether it’s giving talks in university, mentoring master degree students in visual communications or being part of examination boards at intuit.lab design school (Paris), the zebra takes pride in helping young professionals.
