Who’s the zebra?

Release The Zebra is a female-led design studio founded by French Creative Director Anaïs Lobmeyer. What started as a one-woman show has grown into a small but mighty team of creatives (illustrators, photographers, motion designers, developers, and storytellers) collaborating to craft bold campaigns for cultural and creative organisations.

Before diving into design, Anaïs directed large-scale historical productions in France. With over a decade of experience across live performance and visual storytelling, she now leads a studio that helps organisations stand out with campaigns that are strategic and full of character.

But why a zebra?

The zebra is a nod to high-potential individuals who don’t quite fit in a box. Release The Zebra is about unlocking your full creative power and letting it run wild (preferably in technicolor). We believe in unleashing bold ideas, owning your uniqueness, and doing things a little differently. The work is serious. The vibe? Not so much.

What We Stand For

  • We celebrate diversity

Our multicultural background keeps our minds open and our ideas fresh. We believe great design is inclusive, accessible, and celebrates diversity in all its shades (just like our color palettes).

  • We set the bar high

We pour our hearts (and a little bit of caffeine) into every project. Our clients trust us because we care deeply about the details and consistently deliver work that exceeds expectations.

  • We give back to the creative community

We believe in sharing what we know. Anaïs mentors design students, and regularly joins universities and design schools as a guest lecturer, from Melbourne to Paris.

  • We’re optimistic by design

We’re life lovers, glass-half-full people, and firm believers that creativity can make things better. Every challenge is an opportunity to experiment, to grow, and to have a little fun along the way. Optimism fuels our process and it shows in the work.

  • We believe in collaboration, not hierarchy

We see our clients as partners, not paychecks. Open conversations, mutual respect, and full transparency are at the core of how we work. We believe the best creative work happens when everyone feels heard, trusted, and excited.

  • We love a challenge

Whether it’s designing an ambitious campaign or running a marathon, we thrive on pushing limits. We bring the same energy and curiosity to every brief. Nothing’s too big, too bold, or too weird for us.

  • “One of Anaïs's more enjoyable assets is this constant enthusiasm and will to do things the best way they should be done.”

Aldric Pilecki — Inu To Neko

  • “Without any hesitation I can recommend Release The Zebra’s services. Professional, responsive and collaborative in every way.”

Alfie Pezzi — Studio del Castillo

  • “This is one of the best places you can go to have something designed! We use Anaïs on books and adore her!”

    Heather Maltman — Hyphen

  • "Anaïs is competent and passionate, she listened to us while being extremely proactive. It was a successful collaboration, so I highly recommend her!"

    Julien Benichou — Kobalt

  • “Anaïs has an impressive portfolio, we were thrilled when she agreed to take on our project. Her work elevated the festival, and it was a talking point among attendees.”

Darius Family — Reel Good Film Fest

  • "Anaïs is highly talented, she has a strategic eye for design, transforming and bringing to life what we stand for in a unique and intimate way."

Shu Shan Tan — Higher Spaces

A great show deserves more than a generic poster.
