The campaign your next season
actually deserves.

For opera houses, theatres & festivals

We design distinctive, illustration-led campaign systems for cultural institutions that need to stand out in a crowded season, and keep audiences coming back year after year.

The work on stage is extraordinary.
The campaign around it should be too.

Sound familiar?

You're not short on passion or ambition. Your programme is strong, your team works hard, and every season you put out something worth seeing. But somewhere between the artistic vision and the printed poster, something gets lost. The campaign ends up safe. Recognisable, maybe. Distinctive, not quite.

What we do differently

Some clients need a visual identity built to grow across seasons. Others need one strong concept executed across every touchpoint of a single campaign. Either way, your audience should feel it came from one bold idea.

We're illustration-led, which means your campaigns don't look like stock-photo collages or AI-generated composites. They look like yours.

A simple and smooth process from start to finish

How we work

  • A person with shoulder-length blonde hair and a white shirt with colorful paint splatters is video chatting with a man who has glasses and a hoodie. They are in a room with a wall decorated with various colorful posters and artwork.

    01. We set the stage

A deep-dive session into your season, your audience, and the story you need to tell.

  • A person is drawing with a black marker on a white piece of paper, holding a ring with a target design on their finger. The background shows a desk with various toys, pens, and small objects, including a blue bunny figurine and a white container filled with colorful markers.

    02. We build the campaign world

Visual concept developed into a coherent campaign identity, not just a single asset.

  • Poster for Reel Good Film Fest on Saturday, April 22, with details about 25-minute film sessions, showing from 10 AM to 6:30 PM at Lido Cinemas, Hawthorn.

    03. We hand you the toolkit

Every touchpoint adapted. Formatted and ready for your team to roll out without coming back to us for every resize.

  • Three people standing in front of a colorful festival backdrop, smiling for the camera. The man on the left is wearing a white T-shirt, the man in the middle has curly hair and glasses, and a brown shirt, and the woman on the right has red hair, glasses, and is wearing a white top. All three are wearing yellow lanyards with badges.

    04. You make your entrance

A campaign your audience recognises, remembers, and responds to. And a system you can build on next season.

I didn't arrive in the arts, I came from it.

A word from our founder

I'm Anaïs, founder of Release The Zebra.

Before I ever opened a design brief, I was in rehearsal rooms figuring out how to make an audience feel something through stage direction. A Master's in Visual Communication gave me the tools to translate that into campaigns. Ten years in design gave me the clients to prove it works.

When you work with us, you're not just getting a studio that can design. You're getting one that understands what's at stake when your season announcement goes out, and what it takes to make it land.

Your next season is a chance to do something memorable.

  • Tools like AI can churn out designs quickly, but they can’t replace the human touch, strategic thinking, and theatrical flair we bring to the table. At Release The Zebra, every campaign is custom-crafted for your story, your audience, and your goals. No generic templates, no cookie-cutter visuals. With our blended expertise in design, branding, and stage direction, we create artwork that resonates, sparks emotion, and fills seats. AI can assist, but it can’t imagine like we do.

  • Once we have your brief, we’ll prepare a tailored proposal outlining who we are, what we do, how we do it, and the results you can expect. It’s a clear, visually engaging document that we will present directly, whether in person or via video call, so we can answer any questions on the spot.

  • While we will always give our best, we cannot guarantee your campaign success, as this point requires work from both of us. We ensure an attractive campaign that resonates with your audience, but YOU have to take care of its promotion. Our work need to be paired with a strong communication strategy and consistent marketing efforts. Even the best campaign can’t work its magic if no one sees it.

If you don’t have the internal resources to handle it, we also offer the full management of your campaign: promotion, ads, communication, etc. Just reach out and let’s find out!

  • We mostly use emails: it’s convenient, keeps everything clear, and works well for everyone. For the initial briefing, we jump on a video call or meet in person if you’re local to Melbourne and prefer face-to-face. We keep the conversation flowing smoothly from there!
